Rules
These rules apply across the TSC Discord and every game server we run. Individual servers may add rules on top of these, listed on their own pages. Not knowing a rule is not a defence, so read this once properly.
Reporting problems
Open a ticket in the support tickets channel. This creates a private thread visible only to you and staff.
Use tickets for DM scammers, advertisers, harassment, griefing, lost items, ban appeals, and anything else that needs staff attention. Do not call people out in public channels, since it escalates the situation and buries the evidence.
Behaviour
Be mindful and respectful of each other. Most of what follows is detail on that one idea.
Do not be hostile toward other members.
If you are asked to stop saying a word or phrase because it affects someone, stop. Pushing that boundary will result in a timeout or a ban.
Cursing is allowed. Keep it PG-13.
No adult talk in public channels. Take it to DMs.
No NSFW content. It will be removed and may result in a six hour timeout or a ban depending on severity.
Slurs and discrimination
Slurs are not allowed, regardless of your own race, gender identity, ethnic background, or sexual preference. This covers racism, homophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, and anything in the same family.
This is the rule we enforce hardest and the one most likely to skip straight to a ban.
Pinging
Do not ping Mod or Admin without a valid reason. If it needs staff attention it needs a ticket, not a ping.
Advertising
DM advertising, and advertising in any channel not designated for it, will result in a ban. It will also be reported to Discord as a Terms of Service violation.
Age requirement
You must be over 14 to be in the TSC Discord.
In game rules
These apply on all game servers.
No griefing, including builds outside a claim. Unclaimed does not mean unowned.
No stealing from other players, including from unlocked containers.
No cheat clients, x-ray, or texture packs that reveal ores. Minimaps and performance mods are fine.
No exploiting bugs or duplication glitches. Report them in a ticket instead and you will usually be rewarded rather than punished.
No lag machines or builds designed to degrade server performance. Staff may remove them without warning.
Alt accounts are allowed for {{ decide: legitimate second accounts only, or not at all }}. Using an alt to evade a ban extends the ban on every account involved.
Do not claim land purely to block someone in or to squat on a spawn area.
AFK farms are {{ allowed / limited to X / not allowed }}.
Claim disputes are settled by staff using logs. If you did not claim it, we cannot always restore it, so claim your build early.
Enforcement
Staff decide punishments based on severity and history. Depending on the offence that may be a warning, a timeout, a temporary ban, or a permanent ban.
Mod and Admin may change these rules and the punishments attached to them at any time. Changes are announced in Discord.
To appeal a ban, open a ticket. Appeal calmly and honestly, since arguing that the rule is unfair rarely works, whereas acknowledging what happened often does.
Roles
Go to the roles and info channel to pick up roles. Roles marked with a level requirement, shown as (lvl #+), are earned by actively participating and chatting rather than self assigned.
